As fuel injectors increase in age deposits
, caused by chemicals in gasoline, begin to build internally reducing fuel flow, interfering with the open and close of the internal mechanism and ultimately decreasing efficiency and performance. In the extreme cases, the lack of fuel can cause a lean condition which risks severe engine damage. Additionally, factory fuel injectors can have a flow variance of over 5%! This means that each cylinder is not getting the same amount of fuel and negatively impacts engine performance. Better balanced fuel distribution reduces engine vibration, emissions, and increases performance, economy and engine longevity.We subject all of our remanufactured injectors to an ultrasonic bath that breaks up and removes deposits inside the injector. Clean fuel injectors are a must for peak engine performance, fuel economy and emissions. If the injectors are dirty and can't deliver their normal dose of fuel, performance, fuel economy and emissions are all going to suffer. Dirty injectors can't flow as much fuel as clean ones, nor can they delivery the correct spray pattern that is so essential for clean, efficient combustion. The main reason for a fuel injector cleaning is that deposits form at the tip of the injector and once it starts it gets progressively worse. Now the only time these deposits form is when the engine is first shut off and still very hot. This is the time technicians refer to as the "Heat Soak" period. When you shut the engine off the water pump stops circulating coolant and the engine temperature continues to rise for a while until it begins to cool off. The bit of fuel left at the tip of the injector bakes on, the lighter liquid portion evaporates away leaving the solid portion of the fuel. These deposits bake onto the injector forming a porous mass. This process is called "Coking". Keep in mind that coking only occurs during the heat soak period, not when the engine is running.
Injector Cleaning
The cure for a set of clogged injectors is cleaning -- or replacement if they're too badly clogged to respond to cleaning. Injectors are expensive to replace. New domestic injectors sell for $60 to $100 each, with new import injectors fetching $125 to $175 each. Injectors should only be replaced as a last resort.
If your injectors are clogged, they can be cleaned with pressurized solvent, or removed for off-car cleaning. There are also fuel tank additives that claim to clean clogged injectors, but the cleaning such products do is usually minimal. So save your money and put it towards a professional cleaning.
There are do-it-yourself on-car injector pressure cleaning kits that are similar to the equipment professionals use. But some of these kits can be tricky or even dangerous to use. Our advice is to let a professional do it.
On-car injector cleaning involves feeding solvent under pressure into the injector fuel rail or supply line. The concentrated solvent passes through the injectors and loosens and washes away the accumulated varnish deposits. The results are usually good, and make a noticeable difference in idle smoothness, emissions and fuel economy.
If your injectors are really clogged and fail to respond well to on-car cleaning, off-car cleaning using special fuel injection cleaning equipment would be the next logical option. Some of this equipment is designed to "reverse" flush the injectors so any debris that's trapped inside the injector or above the inlet screen will also be removed. Off-car cleaning also allows a mechanic to observe the spray pattern of the injectors to make sure there aren't any streamers or problems. Off-car cleaning is more expensive because of the labor involved to remove the injectors, but the results are usually better.

4. All injectors are submerged in a cleansing bath under "ULTRASONIC VIBRATION" This powerful vibration with the presence of the concentrated cleaning solution breaks down all deposits and sludge built up inside each injector. The injectors are pulsed open and closed rapidly during this process to help remove contaminants.
5. All injectors are then FLOWED BACKWARDS under high pressure to flush out any remaining contaminants
6. All injectors are flowed and we look for a good evenly distributed spray pattern and proper electronic operation and current draw, along with a high pressure leak test.
7. All injectors are grouped in flow matched sets within 1% variance ( factory allows a variance of usually 3%-5% )
7. All metal bodied injectors are clear coated or repainted for that "like new" look.
